This specific opportunity is for an 18-bed Ortho Med-Surg unit at Community Hospital East, focusing on orthopedic surgical patients (hip/knee replacements, fractures) and also providing experience with colorectal, urology, OBGYN, laminectomy, and complex medical patients. The unit features integrated Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff and a modern therapy room. The ortho team champions relationship-based care and emphasizes team self-care. We are seeking nurses committed to a 13-week assignment on the night shift, offering the pay of a Travel RN without the travel requirement.

Requirements

• Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• At least two full years of recent Med/Surg experience.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for orthopedic surgical patients including hip/knee replacements and fractures.
• Gain experience working with surgical patients including, but not limited to: colorectal, urology, OBGYN, laminectomy, and complex medical patients.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff.
• Promote relationship-based care.
• Emphasize the importance of self-care for the team.
