We are seeking nurses for a 13-week assignment on the Ortho Med/Surg Unit at Community East. This role offers the opportunity to earn Travel RN pay without the travel, working day shifts. The Ortho Med-Surg unit is an 18-bed unit specializing in orthopedic surgical patients, including hip/knee replacements and fractures. You will also gain experience with other surgical patients (colorectal, urology, OBGYN, laminectomy) and complex medical patients. The unit features integrated Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff and a state-of-the-art therapy room. The ortho team emphasizes relationship-based care and self-care for its team members. Requirements

Graduate of an NLN, CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA accredited school of nursing, OR three years of related professional nursing experience.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
At least two full years of recent Med/Surg experience.
Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Provide care for orthopedic surgical patients, including hip/knee replacements and fractures.
Care for other surgical patients, including colorectal, urology, OBGYN, and laminectomy.
Manage complex medical patients.
Collaborate with Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff.
Promote relationship-based care and self-care within the team.
