Registered Nurse, Stepdown Unit - Full-time
About The Position
Sentara CarePlex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medicine Unit. This is a 24-bed unit where we care for patients with a variety of healthcare needs, including being the designated Stroke Unit. We provide care for respiratory compromised patients on Bipap, high-flo and/or chronic long term vents, manipulate and titrate vasoactive infusions, and have bedside monitors. We also provide care for patients with DKA, CHF, Pneumonia, and more. New graduate RNs are welcome to apply and are automatically enrolled in Sentara's dynamic 6-month Nurse Residency program, which combines practical skills with hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring. For experienced nurses, there are opportunities for promotional advancement into leadership or to advance care levels in various settings. The primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of patients. Teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for patients.
Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
