About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of recent Step-Down experience to join our team. This is a 36-hour per week position with guaranteed hours, requiring availability every other weekend and every other holiday. Local candidates are accepted, with a reduced bill rate for those living within 50 miles of the facility. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5. The unit utilizes Pyxis for medication management and cares for patients with diagnoses including Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), post-heart catheterization, post-vascular procedures, respiratory failure (BiPAP/CPAP/Vapotherm), and cardiac dysrhythmias. Unit procedures and expectations include post-heart catheterization care, TR band management, post-vascular procedure monitoring, frequent vital sign checks, and neurovascular checks.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of RECENT Step-Down experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF).
  • Care for patients post-heart catheterization.
  • Care for patients post-vascular procedures.
  • Manage patients with respiratory failure requiring BiPAP/CPAP/Vapotherm.
  • Monitor and manage patients with cardiac dysrhythmias.
  • Perform post-heart catheterization care.
  • Manage TR bands.
  • Monitor patients post-vascular procedures.
  • Perform frequent vital sign checks.
  • Perform neurovascular checks.
  • Administer and monitor procedural sedation.
  • Titrate cardiac drips.
  • Manage patients with CVA/Acute Stroke.
  • Manage BiPAP/CPAP.
  • Assist with chest tube insertion/removal.
  • Implement infection prevention strategies.
  • Adhere to isolation precautions and use appropriate PPE.
  • Perform phlebotomy.
