About The Position

The Interventional Radiology Department at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse. The RN will assess the condition of the patient receiving Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) services via nursing process through identification of nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, communicating the plan of care, implementing appropriate nursing interventions and documenting and evaluating patient outcomes. The role also involves serving as a liaison and educational resource for Imaging/IR Services, and as a resource person to other members of the Radiology health care team. The registered nurse's role within Imaging/IR services is multifaceted, including delivery of nursing care throughout all aspects of the services within the department: interventional procedures, administration of moderate sedation when applicable and as ordered by provider, pre-procedure care, recovery/PACU monitoring, nursing care during imaging (MSK, CT, etc.) and nursing care of patients in the IR Clinic. Additional duties include administration of chemo as related to IR procedures, and participation in On Call rotations and Charge role as determined by role and experience. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid Florida Registered Nurse License.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Three years of experience is required.
  • One year of relevant nursing experience required.
  • Must obtain PALS certification within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred.
  • PACU, ICU or Emergency Department clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities
