About The Position

ERP International, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse - Special Needs Coordinator for a full-time position supporting the Exceptional Family Member Program at Tinker AFB, OK. This role is crucial in supporting Military Members, their Families, and Retired Military Veterans. Requirements

  • Associate (ADN), Baccalaureate (BSN), or Master's degree (MSN).
  • Graduate from an accredited college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by NLNAC or CCNE.
  • Two years of registered nurse experience after graduation in a direct patient care clinical setting within the past 5 years.
  • Maintain an active, valid, current, and unrestricted license to practice nursing as a registered nurse in any US state/jurisdiction.
  • Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in a DoD Medical Facility within the last 5 years.
  • Certified/certification eligible by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric and Mental health Nurse with 2 years full time experience in mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the Exceptional Family Member Program – Medical (EFMP-M) in accordance with DOD and Air Force (AF) policy.
  • Establishes and maintains procedures to identify family members with special medical and educational needs in a timely manner.
  • Uses a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach with other key service providers (e.g., installation youth and childcare facilities, officer and enlisted spouses groups) for effective outreach and identification of special needs.
  • Ensures AF sponsors assigned to the installation are “Q-coded” (EFMP-enrolled) regardless of family members' location.
  • Applies knowledge and skills in assessment (identification of patients needing special medical and education needs/management, comprehensive collection of patient information, continued evaluation of care plan), planning (collaboration with patient, family, provider, and healthcare team), facilitation (care coordination and communication), and advocacy (support for patient and family/caregivers).
  • Demonstrates abilities in program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and in conducting assessments.
  • Works with service members and/or veterans and their families experiencing a wide range of complicated issues.
  • Maintains working knowledge of medical privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA), and accreditation standards (AAAHC, TJC).
  • Utilizes computer applications/software including Microsoft Office programs, MS Outlook, and internet familiarity.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing, demonstrating skill and tact with diverse patient populations.
  • Applies critical thinking skills to resolve complex healthcare, social, interpersonal, and financial patient situations.
  • Possesses organization, problem-solving, and communication skills to articulate medical requirements professionally.
  • Ensures all active duty sponsors with family members with special needs are identified in AF medical special needs data management systems.
  • Provides oversight for base-level data entry in AF-provided data management systems for EFMP-M.
  • Provides training to installation personnel and medical staff, and consultation as needed.
  • Is integrally involved in the Family Member Relocation Clearance (FMRC) process and ensures all FMRC requirements are implemented.
  • Coordinates the enrollment process and travel screening for active duty family members and DoD civilian sponsored assignments overseas.
  • Ensures every AF sponsor with family members with special needs has a SN file maintained at the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Contacts Q-coded sponsors annually to determine unmet needs and request updates.
  • Collaborates with the Integrated Delivery System (IDS) and other interagency forums.
  • Refers EFMP families to the Airman and Family Readiness Center for community assistance.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with the base MPS, CSS, and AFPC.
  • Actively supports the integration of EFMP-M, EFMP-FS, and EFMP-A services.
  • Participates in EFMP quarterly case reviews.
  • Completes medical record documentation and coding, and designated tracking logs and data reporting.
  • Completes all required electronic medical record training, MTF-specific orientation, and SNC training programs.
