Registered Nurse (RN) - Academic Med/Surg
About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in an academic medical-surgical unit that combines patient care with hands-on clinical education. The unit cares for a wide variety of adult medical and surgical patients, including acute-care general medical patients, adults with multiple comorbidities, and postoperative surgical patients. It offers a supportive, fast-paced setting where nurses can develop their clinical skills and confidence. The RN provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication to support a safe patient environment and a positive patient experience across the continuum of care.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
- Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care.
- Communicate compassionately and skillfully.
