About The Position

Mercyhealth is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for the Medical Surgical units at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. The nurse will use the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide effective patient care. The schedule is nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current Illinois nursing license.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
• Document patient care according to standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with hospital policies, including instructing patients and their families.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
• Use clinical expertise to guide other units or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal care plan.
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating issues through the chain of command when necessary.
