About The Position

RUSH Specialty Hospital, a 100-bed facility and partnership between Select Medical and RUSH, combines a critical illness recovery hospital with an acute inpatient rehabilitation unit. The critical illness recovery hospital provides inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. Registered Nurses provide compassionate, excellent care to patients throughout their treatment and recovery. This is a full-time, day-shift position with 12-hour shifts in Chicago, Illinois. Compensation is $44.58–$60.00 per hour, with the base rate based on years of experience. Shift differentials are available for night and/or weekend shifts. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

Valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
BLS certification required at hire.
ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
Complete timely and accurate documentation using appropriate systems.
Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
Demonstrate competence in rapid response and code events.
Instruct and counsel patients and families.
Perform other duties as assigned.
