Registered Nurse (RN) - Teal A/B - Medical Center
About The Position
Teal A and Teal B are Emergency Department care areas for patients who need ongoing evaluation, treatment, monitoring, and care coordination while remaining under the Emergency Department team. The units provide a safe, structured environment for patients with varied medical, cognitive, social, and behavioral support needs, helping ensure timely care and improve patient flow and access throughout the Medical Center. Team members collaborate with Emergency Department physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, case management, and ancillary services to deliver patient-centered care, support patient safety, and facilitate appropriate disposition planning. The practice environment offers opportunities to develop expertise in emergency nursing, patient flow management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and care for patients with complex needs. The position is full time at 36 hours per week. The units have 20 total beds and a 1:5 ratio.
Requirements
- Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing evaluation, treatment, monitoring, and care coordination for patients in Teal A and Teal B under the Emergency Department team.
- Collaborate with Emergency Department physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, case management, and ancillary services.
- Deliver patient-centered care and support patient safety.
- Facilitate appropriate disposition planning.
