About The Position

Centerpoint – Versailles, formerly Bluegrass Community Hospital, is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide PACU care. The role provides direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing process. The nurse supports the physical, psychosocial, religious, and cultural needs of patients and their families and communicates relevant changes in patient condition or response to treatment to the healthcare team.

The surgery team includes surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and technicians. Common procedures include endoscopy, orthopedics, and pain procedures. The department has seven pre-op/infusion rooms, two OR suites, one endoscopy suite, and one PACU bay. Due to the volume of outpatient procedures, surgery staff do not work weekends or holidays. This is a PRN day position with no call, weekends, or holidays.

Requirements

• Current state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• At least 1–2 years of experience as a Surgery RN.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Handle with Care training within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually.
• Basic PC skills.
• Ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

• 2–4 years of critical care experience preferred.
• TNCC preferred.
• Specialty certification testing within one year of hire and passing within 1.5 years of hire preferred.
