About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works primarily in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Atrium Health Lake Norman and will cross-train to Pre-op. The nurse provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassionate communication, and nursing skills, the RN helps create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum of care. The position is part-time and PRN, with hours and shifts varying according to unit needs. Some call is required. The role is part of a collaborative Perioperative Services team caring for patients across specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, and gynecology.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
An active Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Previous PACU, Critical Care, or Emergency Department experience.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
