About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, Minnesota. The department has 23 beds and averages 100 patients per day. The work environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and varied. The position is 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks), with 12-hour evening shifts on a variable schedule and work every third weekend. The nurse provides patient-centered emergency care in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, professional practice guidelines, and the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

Valid RN licensure from the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
At least 1 year of current emergency department RN experience.
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association by the end of orientation.
TNCC certification within 12 months of hire.
PALS or ENPC certification within 18 months of hire.
Associate degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
Develop individualized nursing plans of care.
Implement interventions during treatment based on the plan of care.
Evaluate care, patient responses to interventions, and expected outcomes.
Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
Coordinate care with health care team members and delegate responsibilities as appropriate.
Advance care using standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
Promote evidence-based practice by participating in available opportunities.
Perform responsibilities in accordance with policies, procedures, professional practice guidelines, and the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act.
