About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med/Surg Rehab Unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive environment that values high-quality patient care and teamwork. Flexibility to adjust medication and care schedules in collaboration with a dedicated therapy team is essential. We foster a highly engaged and collaborative atmosphere within our rehab unit. The staff consists of a balance of new RNs and experienced personnel, including seasoned RNs and charge nurses. Our unit is committed to personal accountability for quality patient care and charting. Nurses often work closely with two rehab physicians who are highly accessible and responsive to nursing staff needs. The facility is newly renovated and expanding from 21 to 27 beds. Our culture is relaxed, supportive, and fun, with minimal coworker drama. We proudly maintain a strong relationship with our energetic physical, occupational, and speech therapy teams. Additionally, we provide access to modern technology, including computers in every room and iPhones for effective communication with the healthcare team. Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of current Med/Surg or Rehabilitation RN experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in rehabilitation nursing or orthopedics.
• Experience in neuro or trauma nursing.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications (primarily oral and some IV) and manage safe ambulation and toileting.
• Perform high-quality charting and documentation.
• Provide catheter care, peri-care, and wound care, including wet-to-dry dressing changes and wound vac management.
• Administer blood transfusions and manage pain and comfort for patients.
• Conduct neuro checks and stroke rehabilitation care, as well as vital signs and blood sugar checks.
• Monitor telemetry and respond to acute medical events.
