About The Position

The RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in accordance with the organization’s patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. The position requires flexibility to float to departments and sites throughout the organization’s markets based on hiring tier and competency. Assignments may include day-of staffing, multiple locations during one shift, travel assignments, or seasonal staffing patterns. The nurse participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee, consistent with the applicable Registered Nurse Standards and Scope of Practice. Float expectations depend on tier: Tier 1 floats within a single site; Tier 2 floats among multiple sites within one market; and Tier 3 floats among sites across more than one market. This full-time position is on the night shift, 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., for 36 hours per week. The nurse will float among Youngstown, Boardman, and Warren, with assignments scheduled in six-week blocks. The position includes a $15-per-hour float incentive, requires four weekend shifts per six-week schedule, and requires one summer and one winter holiday shift. The role serves patients from neonates through geriatrics and may involve high-stress or fluctuating workloads, interruptions, exposure to noise, bright lights, potentially infectious materials or body fluids, and possible physical altercations or verbal abuse. Travel may be required, including car travel to off-site locations and, as needed, long-distance or air travel not exceeding 10%. Universal precautions and personal protective equipment are required.
