About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Cardiovascular Critical Care provides care to a cardiac medical and surgical critical care population, including high-acuity patients requiring advanced therapies. The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and participation in daily patient-focused rounds to support optimal outcomes. The position is full-time and works 12-hour rotating day and midnight shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m. and 7 p.m.–7 a.m.), with weekend and holiday commitment.

Requirements

BSN required, or commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of the hire date.
Experience caring for high-acuity patients.
At least two years of stepdown experience.
BLS and ACLS certifications.
Cardiac dysrhythmia proficiency.
Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in Delaware.

Previous critical care experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide expert care for high-acuity cardiac patients, including patients requiring advanced therapies.
Collaborate with cardiologists, medical residents, cardiac surgeons, and physician assistants.
Participate in daily patient-focused rounds.
Titrate multiple vasoactive medications.
Manage invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
Manage ventilators and support rapid weaning.
Care for patients with intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ventricular assist devices (VADs), and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
