About The Position

Works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing, as applicable. Assesses, plans, implements, and executes delivery of resident care and directs activities to provide quality service and positive resident outcomes. Maintains close contact with residents, families, and staff while coordinating nursing services with other disciplines.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions, required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute, required within 30 days.
• Availability for call rotation, weekend shifts, and irregular shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assign duties to professional and non-professional staff according to education, training, policy, and resident needs.
• Engage team members to support optimal performance and address performance as needed to ensure quality resident care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate resident plans of care.
• Communicate plans of care to providers, residents, families, and staff.
• Identify changes in resident condition and document appropriately following the Interact process.
• Follow through consistently to support positive resident outcomes.
• Use good judgment and specialized nursing skills and manage a typical nursing unit.
• Allow resident choices within the limits of their capabilities while considering safety and dignity.
• Follow facility policies and procedures, including those regarding resident privacy and dignity.
