Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Care - Night Shift
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work on 3 West, a 9-bed cardiac care unit at Wilmington Hospital. The unit focuses on short-stay patients with primary cardiac diagnoses and offers a diverse clinical experience. Team members may cross-train on the 1W Medical Observation Unit, a 10-bed unit caring for adult medical patients admitted from the Emergency Department under observation status, and the 3M Medical Observation Unit, an 8-bed unit caring for adult medical patients admitted under observation status. These observation units care for conditions such as syncope, chest pain, and possible stroke that require further evaluation beyond the Emergency Department. The 3M unit has high patient turnover and an average length of stay of 12–32 hours; patients requiring inpatient care are transferred to the appropriate inpatient unit. The position is a full-time night-shift role, with hours from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Weekend and holiday work is required according to department guidelines. Requirements
- A Delaware RN license or Compact RN license.
- At least two years of RN experience.
- BLS certification.
- A BSN is preferred, or a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of the hire date.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to short-stay patients with primary cardiac diagnoses on the 3 West cardiac care unit.
- Care for adult medical patients admitted under observation status, including patients requiring evaluation for conditions such as syncope, chest pain, and possible stroke, when cross-trained on the observation units.
- Work weekends and holidays according to department guidelines.
