About The Position

This position is a seasonal position that begins on October 5th and runs for roughly 6-8 weeks. You Belong at Avera. Accountable for immunizations/inoculations to prevent the spread of communicable disease.

Requirements

  • The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
  • An active license in the state of practice
  • 1-3 years of experience

  • Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards associated with, but not limited to, CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Administering immunizations in a manner consistent with good nursing practice and coordinate immunization programs.
  • Following up on immunizations and assuring proper record keeping.
  • Observing, recording and reporting employee’s reactions to drugs and treatments to appropriate individual.
  • Maintaining inoculation rooms for necessary supplies and materials.
  • Ensuring cleanliness.
  • Preparing list of medical supplies needed.
  • Occasionally travel to owned or managed facilities as directed.
