About The Position

Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care on a designated unit in keeping with the facility’s philosophy and objectives. Nurses may work on the Adolescent or Adult Mental Health Units or the Substance Use Disorder Unit at the 112-bed behavioral health facility in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. The facility provides acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults and inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents ages 13–17.

The role is full-time, consisting of three shifts per week, on a day schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The schedule rotates every other weekend and holiday. Overtime and opportunities to cover other shifts are available. Part-time and PRN options are also available, with some benefits and sign-on bonus exclusions. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for a two-year commitment.

The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care; assesses patients and documents their care and progress each shift; supports safe medication administration and patient education; responds to crises and emergencies; and contributes to treatment planning. The nurse also oversees mental health technicians and may assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed. Assigned care activities are carried out on a shift basis under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Prescribe, coordinate, and delegate nursing care.
• Complete nursing assessments and document patient care and progress each shift.
• Facilitate medication administration in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education.
• Respond to crisis and emergency events, direct staff, and ensure patient safety.
• Attend Treatment Team meetings to assist with developing patient care plans.
• Oversee and direct mental health technicians in patient care activities.
• Carry out assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and promote and enhance professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing.
• Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.
