About The Position

This is a 100% FTE position for a Registered Nurse (RN) working 8/12 hour evening/night shifts, Monday - Friday, with no on-call responsibilities. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The role is located at East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI. The RN will assist with overnight hold patients, provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric perioperative patients and their families, and evaluate patient’s responses to care based on the effectiveness of nursing interventions/actions in relationship to established goals.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
• 6 months of current surgical general care or emergency department experience Required
• Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin Upon Hire Required
• CPR certification Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
• 2 years of current independent PACU, critical care, or ICU experience Preferred
• ACLS certification Preferred
• PALS certification Preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with overnight hold patients.
• Provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric perioperative patients and their families.
• Evaluate patient’s responses to care based on effectiveness of nursing interventions/actions in relationship to established goals.
