About The Position
Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Women's Health unit, North 8, at Hartford Hospital. This 27-bed surgical unit specializes in the unique needs of women, caring for patients recovering from gynecological, uro-gynocology, gyn/onc, plastic surgery, and abdominal procedures. The unit also cares for stable obstetrical patients, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum women whose newborns are in the NICU. During hospital-wide census surges, the unit may admit a small percentage of female medical patients. The role offers opportunities to develop skills in electronic fetal monitoring, advanced breastfeeding support, and various pre- and post-operative interventions. The Registered Nurse provides holistic, quality, and cost-effective nursing care within their primary area of practice, applying the nursing process within the organization's Framework for Professional Practice.
Requirements
- Current Connecticut RN License.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- ASN Required.
- BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
- One year nursing experience required.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Previous maternity experience desired.
- Experience in Women's Health or postoperative care desired.
