Registered Nurse RN WISH Women's and Infants Float Pool Full time nights
About The Position
The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET, and Texas 10-Step facility, has previously been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and is a Maternal Level IV designated facility. This role is for a Full-time Registered Nurse in the Women's & Infants' Supplemental Help/Float Pool, working nights (6:45PM-7:15AM) for 36 hours/week, with weekend and holiday requirements. The department offers self-scheduling for work/life balance and opportunities for educational and career growth. The float pool nurse will provide care in Labor & Delivery (LDR), Mother/Baby (couplet care), Neonatal ICU (NICU), and Antepartum units. The facility includes 18-bed LDR's, a 5-bay OB/ED, 3 OR suites, averages over 275 deliveries per month, and handles a wide range of patient care including water births, nitrous oxide, midwifery, and high-risk patients. The NICU is a 63-bed Level III unit for low-risk patients, and the Mother/Baby unit is a 27-bed couplet care unit.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program required.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
- NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days required.
Nice To Haves
- BSN is preferred
- 18 months or more of Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) and Postpartum (Mother/baby, couplet care) setting or Float Pool/Resource RN experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities

- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
