About The Position

The vascular access department supports all adult inpatient and outpatient units by placing PICC lines, midlines and assisting with ultrasound guided PIVs. We provide trouble shooting for vascular access complications and play a pivotal role in CLABSI reduction by managing central line dressings and collection of blood cultures on all patients with central lines. Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
  • The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Vascular Access experience preferred
  • VA-BC or CRNI – Certification preferred.
