About The Position
Ozanam Hall Nursing Home of Queens is a faith-based, nonprofit short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. The facility has served the community since 1971. The Registered Nurse - RN Unit Manager works on the day shift in a full-time role and earns an annual salary of $122,000. The position supervises nursing staff and provides and monitors resident care, including documentation, treatment, medication administration, wound care, and communication with residents’ families or friends. Requirements
- Current New York Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Two years of experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation facility.
- One year of nursing supervisory experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Knowledge of MDS 3.0, DOH/CMS regulations, and EHR.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff as required.
- Accurately record residents’ medical histories.
- Take and record measurements such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
- Observe residents receiving treatment to identify progress and medication side effects.
- Monitor residents’ conditions, including fluid intake and output, and compose patient charts.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, and enemas; clean and dress wounds.
- Collect samples for laboratory testing as assigned.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate with residents’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
