About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator for our Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown). This is a Full Time position (36 hr/week) on the First (Days) shift. The role demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, the RN Unit Coordinator leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. The goal is to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. The Intermediate Care Unit is a 24-bed unit, with 16 beds for Med/Surg patients (including some cardiac) and 8 Step-Down beds for patients who are too ill for general medical/surgical care but do not require the intensive level of care found in the ICU.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required) or MSN (Preferred)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • 18 months of relevant nursing experience required
