About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Telemetry position at Texas Health Plano is a part-time role focused on providing care to patients undergoing general medical surgery, surgical telemetry, and post-operative coronary bypass procedures. These patients are admitted to the unit after their recovery period in the ICU. The role involves delivering care using the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care, while incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
RN (required)
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
1 year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
2 years of RN experience in cardiac or telemetry preferred
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
