About The Position

This is a Full-Time Days position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical (Telemetry) unit at Texas Health Plano. The unit is a 22-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 RN: patient ratio and 1 PCT for every 10-11 patients. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. It also requires incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient information needs, and maintaining continuity of patient care.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program; nursing diploma
• 1 year experience as a registered nurse or completion of a RN residency program req
• RN Nurse Upon Hire Required
• BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• Experience as preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
