About The Position

The Surgical Telemetry Unit at Texas Health Plano focuses on improving the quality of care for patients undergoing general medical surgery, surgical telemetry, and post-op coronary bypass. These patients are admitted to the unit after their recovery period in the ICU. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care effectiveness. It also incorporates age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient information needs, and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts and facilities.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma
RN (required)
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
1 year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
2 years of RN experience in cardiac or telemetry preferred
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req

Responsibilities
