About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Telemetry position is a full-time night shift role focused on delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing patients, planning their care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant others' needs for information, and maintaining continuity of patient care between shifts, hospitals, and during transfers. The Surgical Telemetry Unit cares for patients undergoing general medical surgery, surgical telemetry, and post-op coronary bypass after their recovery period in the ICU.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
RN (required)
CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
1 year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
2 years of RN experience in cardiac or telemetry preferred
