About The Position

This position manages patient assignments and flow within the clinic, providing oversight of patient care to support patient and staff needs. The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor serves as a lead, clinical resource, role model, and extension of management to uphold institutional priorities, policies, and practices. This role is part of the nursing team at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Clinics in New Hampshire, a nationally recognized Academic Medical Center set in the White Mountains.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Nursing program required.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing (BSN) at time of hire.
2 years of progressive responsibility within designated setting.
Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit.
Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills required.
Demonstrates abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility, and teamwork.
Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or higher per unit specific requirements.

Responsibilities

Assigns staff to patients per current clinic workload, considering acuity, staff experience and competency, learning needs, and patient acuity/complexity.
Participates in performance management of staff members, including coaching, preparation of performance evaluations, and the performance management process.
Initiates disciplinary action as appropriate.
Addresses conflicts as they may arise and assists/mediates to maintain smooth operations of the clinic.
Performs service recovery to promote patient and employee retention.
Facilitates orientation and training for employees.
Serves as liaison with other persons/departments/clinics concerning services offered by the office.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
