About The Position

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Perot Surgery department on a PRN basis. This role involves working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment within a Level I Trauma facility that specializes in Open Vascular, Endo Vascular, and Hearts. The Perot Surgery department is equipped with 24 Main OR Suites, 2 Endovascular rooms, 3 Robot rooms, and 2 Heart rooms. Texas Health Dallas has been a leading healthcare provider in North Texas for over 50 years, offering a wide range of services including cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women's services, and emergency medicine. It is an 875-bed, Magnet-designated hospital known for its Comprehensive Stroke and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit.

Requirements

Associate degree Nursing required or Nursing Diploma
1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required upon hire)

Nice To Haves

BSN (Preferred)
Robotic, GYN, Plastics and Breast Oncology experience (Strongly Preferred)
At least 3 years of experience circulating (strongly preferred)
Scrubbing experience (preferred)
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
OR RN Surgery Circulator duties and skills
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
