About The Position
PRN Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Surgery PRN | Wednesdays and/or Thursdays as Needed | Typical Hours: 7:30 AM-5:00 PM | $38.00/hour Location: Crown Point, IN 46307 Looking for flexible nursing shifts that fit your schedule? Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience.
- Current BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS certification.
- Previous experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Communicate confidently and compassionately with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities
- Obtain and document patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and procedure information.
- Assess patients by obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Start IVs and prepare patients for procedures, including positioning and draping.
- Assist physicians during procedures and provide clinical support as needed.
- Monitor patients during recovery and complete accurate electronic documentation.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, medications, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
- Prepare procedure rooms with required equipment, medications, and sterile supplies.
- Turn over and sterilize procedure rooms between cases.
- Escort patients to and from the recovery area.
- Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and compassion.
- Complete post-procedure follow-up calls.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
