About The Position

PRN Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Surgery PRN | Wednesdays and/or Thursdays as Needed | Typical Hours: 7:30 AM-5:00 PM | $38.00/hour Location: Crown Point, IN 46307 Looking for flexible nursing shifts that fit your schedule? Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience.
  • Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification.
  • Previous experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Communicate confidently and compassionately with patients and colleagues.

  • Prioritize patient safety while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and procedure information.
  • Assess patients by obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Start IVs and prepare patients for procedures, including positioning and draping.
  • Assist physicians during procedures and provide clinical support as needed.
  • Monitor patients during recovery and complete accurate electronic documentation.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, medications, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
  • Prepare procedure rooms with required equipment, medications, and sterile supplies.
  • Turn over and sterilize procedure rooms between cases.
  • Escort patients to and from the recovery area.
  • Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Complete post-procedure follow-up calls.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
