About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) on the Post-Surgical unit will be responsible for providing direct patient care within a 26-bed General Surgery specialty unit. This Med-Surg Unit has a high surgical volume and specializes in elective bariatric weight loss surgery, general surgery (appendectomies, cholecystectomies, small bowel obstruction, etc.), foot and ankle ortho (total ankle replacements, infected foot wounds, BKA's, etc.), and urology surgery. Nurses on this unit will gain experience with various drains, wound vacs, central lines, NGT, DHT, and other surgical necessities. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Experience in a Med-Surg setting is implied by the unit description.
  • Ability to manage patients with various surgical needs and post-operative complications.
  • Familiarity with drains, wound vacs, central lines, NGT, and DHT.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with bariatric weight loss surgery patients.
  • Experience with general surgery patients (appendectomies, cholecystectomies, small bowel obstruction).
  • Experience with foot and ankle ortho patients (total ankle replacements, infected foot wounds, BKA's).
  • Experience with urology surgery patients.
