About The Position
The PCCU Surgical Telemetry Unit at Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their team. This 35-bed unit specializes in the care of cardiovascular surgical patients, thoracic surgical patients, vascular surgical patients, Cath lab patients, heart failure patients, pacemakers, and all cardiac conditions. It is a high acuity telemetry unit with a reduced nurse to patient ratio (4:1-5:1) and offers self-scheduling for work-life balance. The ideal candidate will maintain a high degree of confidentiality, possess positive interpersonal skills, and be customer service focused.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually within 90 Days

- CRRN - Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Upon Hire

Responsibilities
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
