About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Telemetry Full Time Days Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 W. Parker Plano, TX 75093 Work hours : Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Surgical Telemetry Unit - Our Nurses improve the quality of care for patients undergoing general medical surgery, surgical telemetry and post-op coronary bypass who come to this unit after their recovery period in ICU.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma
RN (required)
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
1 year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
2 years of RN experience in cardiac or telemetry preferred
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
