About The Position

Perham Health is seeking a Casual/PRN Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pain Management. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to chronic pain patients in a clinic setting and assisting with outpatient pain intervention procedures. The position requires rotation between clinic and procedure responsibilities as needed. Key duties include managing patient admissions, intraprocedural care, and discharges for outpatient procedures, administering conscious sedation under CRNA direction, rooming patients, scheduling appointments, and performing other clinical tasks as directed by providers. The role also involves patient education, follow-up care planning, and accurate, timely documentation of patient data and interventions. Flexibility in scheduling and role adaptation based on department needs is essential.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Minnesota.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Chronic Pain management experience in a chronic pain management clinic.
  • Experience with pain intervention procedures.
  • Prior experience administering conscious sedation.
  • Ability to work independently in a clinic setting alongside a provider.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, peers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care to chronic pain patients in the clinic setting.
  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient pain intervention procedures.
  • Manage admission, intraprocedural care, and discharge of pain management patients for outpatient procedures.
  • Provide conscious sedation under the direction of a CRNA.
  • Room pain management clinic patients.
  • Schedule appointments for patients.
  • Complete other clinical tasks per provider direction.
  • Provide patient education and follow-up plan of care.
  • Document pertinent patient data, nursing interventions, and patient responses accurately, timely, and concisely.
  • Be flexible with schedule and role based on department needs.
