Regisgtered Nurse (RN) PACU Cardiac Diagnostics
About The Position
Inova Fairfax Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to join its Cardiac Diagnostics team. This day-shift role is scheduled Monday through Friday for four nine-hour shifts per week, with start times varying between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. There is no night, weekend, or holiday requirement. The nurse assists with cardiac testing for inpatient and outpatient patients, including transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), cardioversions, tilt table tests (TTTs), and cardiac stress tests. The RN assists with procedure preparation and recovery for patients undergoing TIVA or general anesthesia and works closely with anesthesiologists, cardiologists, and echocardiography technicians. Prior acute care experience is required. Cardiac, critical care, or procedural experience is preferred.
Requirements
- One year of PACU or critical care nursing experience in an ICU or emergency department.
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing; nurses with an associate degree in nursing must complete a BSN within five years of their start date.
- RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- BLS healthcare provider certification from the American Heart Association, required at start.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of PACU or critical care nursing experience in an ICU or emergency department.
- Two or more years of experience on a cardiac-related unit, including experience with rapid response and MSET situations.
- Cardiac, critical care, or procedural experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with TEEs, stress testing, and cardioversions for inpatient and outpatient patients.
- Prepare and recover patients undergoing TIVA or general anesthesia for cardiac procedures.
- Work closely with anesthesiologists, cardiologists, and echocardiography technicians.
