About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our unit located within the Edgewood Hospital. This position is full-time, 32 hours per week, on the First Shift. No evenings, weekends, or holidays are required. The position requires travel to our Covington, Ft. Thomas, and Grant County clinic sites. The RN OP Wound Care is a professional nurse who is responsible and accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process. They are responsible for delegating tasks appropriately to other licensed and unlicensed health care team members. This role involves providing assessment and coordination of the care of patients requiring wound care assessment, management, and treatment. The RN OP Wound Care/ HBO will initially work in an intake/wrap up role with potential opportunity to advance to case manager. This position may also act in the dual role of Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (HRN), acting as the attendant and control operator of the hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) chamber under the direction of the HBO physician. Hyperbaric oxygen experience is not necessary, and additional training can be obtained within the role. The nurse demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every interaction with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, regardless of cultural background. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited School of Nursing.
  • If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.
  • Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
  • Focus of education promotes nurses’ ability to practice in clinical area assigned.
  • As HRN, able to complete or completion of Undersea Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) approved HBO Team Training Course.
  • Knowledgeable regarding basic wound care principles and practices.
  • Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the health system and clinical area.
  • Able to critically think and problem solve in clinical situations.
  • One year current clinical nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Hyperbaric oxygen experience is not necessary for this position and additional training can be obtained within the role.
