About The Position

Texas Health Southwest is seeking a Registered Nurse RN Operating Room Service Line Specialist to join their team. This full-time, day shift position requires 40 hours per week, with call and some holidays required. The role involves collaborating with the surgical team to ensure patient safety during operations, serving as a clinical liaison, organizing meetings, and communicating about products and services. The specialist will also participate in training and mentoring staff, managing equipment and supply orders, ensuring accurate charging for service line surgeon preference cards, and coordinating budget needs with the clinical manager. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth is a 222-bed facility with extensive services, recognized for its quality care and commitment to nursing excellence.

Requirements

  • 2 years OR experience required
  • 1 Year perioperative services and circulating and/or scrubbing experience Req
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of Spine surgery experience preferred
  • 1 Year OR specialty experience based on specific service line needs Pref

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with other team members (including anesthesiologist, surgeon, surgical technologist, etc) to ensure the safety of patients during the operation.
  • Serves as clinical liaison to staff, surgeons and vendors.
  • Promotes engagement through open lines of communication.
  • Organizes face-to-face meetings as needed.
  • Communicates products and services.
  • Completes special projects and events as needed.
  • Actively participates in training, orientation and mentoring of staff members while facilitating education on service line clinical, administrative, legal and financial requirements.
  • Maintains par levels of special equipment and supply orders items specific to service line.
  • Ensures that accurate and timely charges incorporated into service line surgeon preference cards.
  • Works with clinical manager to coordinate capital and non-capital budget needs for service line.
  • Attends and participates in clinical facilitator meetings.
