Valley View is hiring Nurse Residents for its February 2027 cohort in Acute Care/Med Surg, Family Birth Place, Surgery/OR, Emergency Department, and Ambulatory Care/Clinics. The Emergency Department role requires prior emergency-room or similar experience, such as EMT or ED technician experience. Valley View’s Nurse Residency Program has supported newly graduated RNs in their transition to practice since 2009 and is accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs. The program provides an extended orientation with a designated preceptor, monthly classes focused on the needs of transitioning nurses, and a year of support from RN Education Facilitators, the Program Director, and the Nurse Residency Coordinator. Residents agree to work as full-time benefited RNs at Valley View for two years after completing orientation on their assigned unit. Valley View supports nurses working at the top of their licensure. ADN-prepared residents will work with the Director of Staff Development to advance to a BSN within an agreed-upon timeframe; tuition assistance and scholarship options may help with costs. The role offers a $10,000 bonus with a two-year commitment, paid as $5,000 at the end of each of the first and second years. Salary rates vary by role and degree: $36.76 per hour for Nurse Resident ADN, $37.50 per hour for Nurse Resident BSN, $32.68 per hour for Clinic Nurse Resident ADN, and $33.99 per hour for Clinic Nurse Resident BSN. Shift and weekend differentials and annual performance-based bonuses are also offered. Valley View Hospital is a 78-bed independent nonprofit hospital that has operated since 1955. Its nursing program has received Pathway to Excellence Designation. The organization’s mission is to provide convenient, connected care to Western Colorado communities.
