About The Position

Trinity Health Livingston is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as a Nurse Coordinator for 3 North - LV. This frontline leadership role supports safe, high-quality care and smooth day-to-day unit operations in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. The position is full-time and scheduled for 40 hours per week.

The Nurse Coordinator assumes delegated accountability from the Nurse Manager for staffing, scheduling, workflow coordination, and operational oversight. The role combines clinical expertise with team support and resource management, including serving as Charge Nurse during assigned shifts, coordinating daily unit operations, supporting staff development, and helping prepare the unit for a Joint Commission survey.

Requirements

• Current Michigan Nursing License.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN required.
• Minimum of three years of staff experience.
• One year of related practice experience in the clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Function as the Charge Nurse and operational lead during assigned shifts.
• Lead weekday rounds to review patient status, staffing, and care planning with the interdisciplinary team.
• Prepare the daily agenda, assign nurse and tech teams, set break schedules, and organize unit workflow.
• Assist in forecasting staffing needs and adjusting schedules based on patient census and acuity.
• Review new admissions for clinical appropriateness and coordinate necessary care accommodations.
• Maintain regular dialogue with the Nurse Manager and Nurse Educator to align priorities, implement initiatives, and support staff development.
• Coach and support staff, model professional behavior, and resolve conflicts using Relationship-Based Care principles.
• Understand the unit budget and volume-adjusted staffing model to support effective resource use.
• Participate in preparing the unit for the upcoming Joint Commission survey by implementing and reinforcing standards, protocols, and compliance measures.
