About The Position

Lerner Tower 4 is a 30 bed adult inpatient care unit that primarily provides care for neurology and neurosurgical patients. The newly remodeled unit is also a neuro intermediate care unit, in which stepdown acuity level neuro patients can be cared for. Additionally, Tower 4 has a unique collaboration with NSU, the neuro ICU. Management as well as staff from both areas meet frequently to discuss issues, work on process improvement and patient satisfaction. Individuals hired for a Weekender position are required to work two (2) 12-hour shifts between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday. In return for this commitment, Weekenders will be compensated at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for these shifts. Individuals in Weekender roles qualify for full-time medical and dental benefits, whereas eligibility for all other benefits is at part-time levels. Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.
  • 1 year of RN experience required
  • Minimum of Diploma/Associate’s Degree in nursing from accredited program.
  • Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
  • Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

  • Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
