About The Position

The CV Stepdown Unit is a 20 private bed unit that focuses on providing care for patients that are Cardiac, vascular and all other intermediate level of care patients, such as respiratory, neurology, and sepsis. Individuals hired into a Weekender position are required to work two (2) 12-hour shifts between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday. In return for this commitment, Weekenders will be compensated at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for these shifts. Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master in Nursing (MN)
Knowledge of nursing process and practice.
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
