The RN also initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information and maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. Texas Health Dallas is a 900-bed MAGNET-designated hospital, a Level I Major Trauma facility, and a recipient of the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline Silver Quality Achievement Award. The Neuro Progressive Care Unit is a 35-bed Cardiac/Neuro Intermediate Unit specializing in neurological conditions, spinal surgeries, and cardiovascular patients requiring a higher level of care in a non-ICU setting. It is a high acuity telemetry/PCU unit with standard nurse-to-patient ratios of 4:1 and up to 5:1 depending on acuity.
