About The Position

Thank you for considering a career at Roper St. Francis Healthcare! This Registered Nurse position is in the Medicine Hospitalist Unit at Roper Hospital. The role involves delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, including data collection, assessment, problem identification, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will also coordinate and direct patient teaching and collaborate with health team members. This includes conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzing data, creating care plans, administering medications safely, and serving as a point of contact for care coordination. The role also emphasizes patient safety advocacy and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment.
Identifies and determines the priority of patient’s problems/needs.
Evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care.
Coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities.

Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
Analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures.
Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
