About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical position is located at Texas Health Frisco. This role is part of a fast-paced, high turnover department that cares for post-surgical, telemetry, and observation patients. The unit has an established Unit Based Council.
Requirements
- 1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse Req
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support charge only 90 Days Req
- NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program if floating to Mother Baby 90 Days Req
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Pref
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
