About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical. This is a Full Time position with day shifts. A $6,000 Sign On Bonus is offered with a 2-year commitment required. The schedule is from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Saline Memorial Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Surgical RN to join their team. The Medical Surgical unit is 60 beds split between 2 floors, and the team provides direct patient care using the nursing process. The role reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

Requirements

  • Current state or compact state RN license.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Must have a current state or compact state RN license.
  • Associate's degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NRP, Handle with Care, preferred within one year of hire.
  • One-year previous experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties as assigned and requested.
  • Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient’s condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
  • Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
  • Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
  • Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope.
  • Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
  • Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly.
  • Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
