This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Medical PCU department at Texas Health Fort Worth. The department is a 28-bed unit providing intermediate care to a variety of medical patients with a 3:1 patient to nurse ratio. Patients in this unit require specialized monitoring and interventions for conditions such as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), respiratory compromise requiring specialized equipment, home ventilation systems, tracheostomy care, multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, hematology, GI bleeds, renal/liver failure, acid-base and electrolyte imbalances, and cardiac abnormalities. Medication management includes continuous and titratable IV medications. The facility is a MAGNET facility, a Level I Trauma Center, and a Primary Heart Attack Center (PHAC). There is a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team.
