About The Position

Welcome to the Medical Cardiac Telemetry nursing unit. This unit is equipped to provide high-quality care for patients with medical cardiac conditions. The unit has 32 beds and focuses primarily on congestive heart failure (CHF). Nurses will utilize High Flow oxygen and BiPAP for short-term needs and are expected to troubleshoot this equipment. RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting ECG strips using virtual monitoring systems and for titrating drips, including Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years in medical cardiac care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for patients with medical cardiac conditions.
• Titrate drips, including Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem.
• Utilize High Flow oxygen and BiPAP for short-term needs and troubleshoot equipment.
• Read and interpret ECG strips using virtual monitoring systems.
• Assist with patient care as needed.
• Work every other weekend or less.
• Work assigned holiday shifts on a rotation basis.
• Float to other areas as needed.
